No one really knows what energy is. But we do know that it exists in several forms and we have formulas to predict what energy does in its various forms.
Of course, mainstream science will tell you otherwise. There are countless scientific theories and opinions as to what energy really is. But the truth is that no one really knows. We only know how to describe the characteristics of its various manifestations mathematically.
We also know how to harness it, Concentrate or bundle it, redirect it, transform or convert it and so on but again "no one really knows what energy is". Just like gravity we can describe it in terms of its effects and give mathematical equivalencies and origin are mysterious. Only atheistic arrogance would assume energy is well defined.
Just like with gravity most of what we know about gravity is at the macro level only. Stars, planet's, you, me, Apples etc. This is where you are saying that gravity is completely true but the knowledge breaks down at the quantum level and needs a new explanation.
Energy can not be created nor destroyed it can only be converted from one form to another. No one knows what energy is because the presence of energy can be known only when it is manifest on matter, it can appear as heat, light, EM radiation etc. It's many manifestations are well known and studied and we can prove energy by its material effects but that's only a very limited knowledge because the physical is only a tiny part of the whole.
So for one last time no one really knows what energy really is at any fundamental levels. This is an absolute fact. It's effects are known to some degree but that's about it. Period. It's not understood at all,keep this in mind and don't tell anyone who says otherwise get to you.
